One of the oldest Asian tarantula species in the hobby, Cyriopagopus lividus (ex. Haplopelma lividum) is an obligate burrower. It constructs a distinctive, volcano-shaped mound of substrate at the entrance where prey are often taken. Freshly molted specimens show shades of blue (colbalt blue in its original description). C. lividus is native to Myanmar (fmr. Burma) and neighboring Thailand.
