A jewel of a spider from India, Haploclastus devamantha is earning a reputation as a hobby favorite. Obligate burrowers (fossorial), the most you see of them is a profile in a tunnel or underground base built along the side of an enclosure. Females grow to about 4″. Breeding has been a challenge, but inroads have been made, enough to supply captive-bred spiderlings in limited amounts.
